Karen (Couri) Clark, 73, of Peoria, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. She was born on March 31, 1951 in Peoria, a daughter of Thomas J. Couri and Jeanette M. (Kouri) Couri. Karen married Fred M. Clark on June 13, 1998 in Pekin. He survives.
Karen is also survived by seven sisters and one brother: Debra (William) Spears, Jeannine (George) Jacob, Beth (Ed) Olehy of Peoria; Janice Martin, Tricia (Jeff) Lambrich of East Peoria; Bob (Kathy) Couri of Arvada, CO; Sue Couri of Springfield, IL; Cindy (Lester) Behrends of Tiskilwa, IL. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Vickie (Paul) Couri-Flynn of Washington, IL. Karen also leaves 33 nieces and nephews, and 23 great nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Jeanette Couri; one brother, Michael Couri; and one brother-in-law, Ray Martin.
Karen graduated from The Academy of Our Lady, Class of 1969, and Illinois Central College, where she was a member of the Lambda Kappa Chi Sorority.
Karen last worked in data entry for Couri's License Service in East Peoria. She had also been employed by Bergner’s, the Federal Reserve Bank, Peoria and Pekin Union Railway, and Couri’s Food Town.
She was a member of Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Bartonville and the Itoo Society.
Karen's funeral mass will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Her visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday, October 28, 2024 at the Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. An additional visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday at her church. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria.
