Julia Pauline Neal, 87, of Peoria, passed away on Friday September 29, 2023 at her home. She was born on December 23, 1935, a daughter of Louis Willis and Mary E. (Richmond) Willis. Julia married James G. Neal on December 24, 1953 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on November 17, 2020 in Peoria.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, James J. Neal; and two brothers, Bill Willis and Dale Willis.
Surviving her are two daughters, Mary Lou Songer of Hanna City and Julie (Jack) Ayres of Trivoli; one daughter-in-law, Paula Neal of Peoria; four granddaughters, Jennifer (Jimmy) Chasteen, Samantha (Nick) Conrad, Morgan (Mike) Richards, and Abigail (Joey) Davis; one grandson, Shawn (Julie) Songer of Mapleton; four great-grandchildren, Boyd, Micah, River, and Aubrey; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved pet dog, Hero.
Julia was a long-time member of Fellowship Bible Church in Peoria, where she volunteered in the nursery, Sunday School, and the AWANA program. She loved to garden, sew, cooking, and canning.
Julia's funeral service will be at 10:00 am Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Fellowship Bible Church in Peoria. Pastor Jason Alligood will officiate. Her visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Burial will take place in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
