Joseph E Slama

Peoria, IL – Joseph E. Slama, 62, of Peoria, passed away peacefully at his home at 12:07 p.m. Monday, August 25, 2014. He was born November 6, 1951 in Peoria, IL to Roland J. and Bernice A. (Aberle) Slama. He married Jeanette Engel on November 27, 1971. Surviving are his former spouse, Jeanette Slama; three children, Roland Slama II, Melissa (Kendra) Slama DeRosa, Jolene (Elizabeth) Slama-Saenz; two grandchildren, Mason Joe and Joel Thomas; one sister, Janet Roberts; and his niece, Ronda Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has been accorded. Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, August 28. 2014 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Joe graduated from LCHS in 1970. He worked at LCHS for over 30 years and created lasting memories. He enjoyed spending his summers on the softball field with his family.
