John L. Seidel Sr.

He was born March 18, 1953 in Canton to Russell and Betty (Wilder) Seidel. He first married Sandra K. Davis July 1, 1972 in Ohio. They had two sons: John (Tricia) Seidel, Jr of Peoria and Jeremie (Michelle) Seidel of Peoria. He later married Laurie Crittenden Aug. 20, 2004 in Peoria. She also survives along with John’s mother Betty of Peoria, two step-daughters: Cassie Malone of Peoria, Rachel Malone of Peoria, six grandchildren, two sisters: Debbie Moreno of Peoria, Lori (John) Adams of Deer Creek, three brothers: Lonnie (Debbie) Seidel of Peoria, Randy Seidel of Texas, Dennis (Tracie) Seidel of Elmwood, and nine nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and one step-son, Tony Malone.

John was a Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was currently working at Caterpillar, Inc. in building MM2 as a machinist.

He, along with Dave Fauser, volunteered for more than 20 years as a coach and director of the Woodruff JFL program. This brought him great joy.

John attended Pottstown Presbyterian Church.

Visitation will be Wednesday Dec. 26, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Mark Henniger will officiate.

Burial will be Thursday Dec. 27, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.

Memorials may be made to the Children’s Hospital of Illinois.
