Peoria – James L. Lewis, 65, of Peoria, IL passed away Monday, October 27, 2014 at his residence. He was born March 10, 1949 in Peoria, IL to James and Frances (Hayes) Lewis. James married Shirley Howard on July 19, 1968 in Peoria, IL. James was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1967 to 1969. He was a general contractor for over fifty years owning and operating his own business, James Lewis Construction. Surviving are; his wife Shirley Lewis of Peoria, IL, daughters; Kimberly (Len) Jatkowski of Peoria Heights, IL, Kami (Scot) Maurer of Dunlap, IL, and Kelly Deynzer of Washington, IL, three grandchildren; Madison, Lauren, and Sommer, five sisters, and one brother. James was a loving husband, father, papa, and brother. Family will receive friends from 2 – 4 pm Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. A private family service will be held.
