James Vincent "Jim" Henderson, 94, of Peoria, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Independence Village in Peoria. He was born on December 16, 1929, in Canton, a son of Leo Otto Henderson and Sabina Josephine (Grenko) Henderson. Jim married Janet L. Elliott on November 5, 1980 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on December 24, 2008 in Peoria.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Harold Henderson, Barbara Anderson, and Shirley Bruketta.
Jim is survived by his sister, Carol J. King of Peoria; and nieces and nephews, Darcy Reynolds, Susan Bruketta, Steve Bruketta, and Michael King AIA.
He served his country in the United States Army in Korea.
Jim last worked in commodities for the State of Illinois, retiring in 1995.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Peoria. Jim was world traveler with his wife Janet, and an avid reader of English Literature.
Jim's memorial service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home. His memorial visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am also on Saturday at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place in Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria.
