He was born on October 22, 1942 in Kewanee and was the son of James Alexander and Frances (Miller) Carver.
Jim graduated from Woodruff High School in 1962 and shortly after joined the Army Reserves. He married the love of his life, Sandra Baker, in Peoria, in 1969.
He is survived by his wife Sandy of Peoria; sons, Matt (Scarlett) Carver of Metamora, and Tim (Kimberly) Carver of Peoria; and grandchildren, Brock Carver, Kayla Carver, and Brady James Carver, all of Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim owned and operated Carver’s Amoco for many years, and also worked at Kellog Golf Course.
It was Jim’s wish to be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Peoria on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at noon. Pastor Tim Ozment will officiate. Visitation will be held two hours before the service, beginning at 10:00 AM.
