Hilda E. Brown

She was born January 1, 1919 in Lewistown, IL to Raymond Hubert. and Melissa J. (Fisher) Leonard. She married Albert Thornburg and he preceded her in death. She later married James R. Brown Jr. on April 25, 1952 in Peoria. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lawrence R. and George D. Leonard.

Surviving is her husband, James of Peoria, her daughter, Sharon K. Moukarbel of Peoria, two grandchildren, Michael Allen Lyons and Lori A. (Doug Lathrom) Lyons-Walker both of Washington, great-grandchildren, Kevin A. Kerrn, Shelby N. (Tim) Miller, Jana Oppe, step-great-grandchildren, Kami, Kyle, and Colten Lathrom, and several other great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Hilda attended Peoria Schools and was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She worked in the office at Sear and Roebuck for many years retiring in 1962 and was a Real Estate Agent for several are companies. She enjoyed her home, family, and gardening and was a volunteer at the Luthy Botanical Gardens.

A funeral service will be Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 2:00 pm, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Entombment will follow the service at the Chapel of Peace mausoleum at Parkview cemetery.
