Helen Elaine Pruitt

Peoria – Helen Elaine Pruitt, 98, of Peoria, passed away on October 22, 2019 at Toulon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She was born in Dunfermline on December 20, 1920 to Thomas and Leatha (Deuschane) Gay. Helen married Robert Lee Pruitt, Sr. in 1939, he preceded her in death on August 2, 1997 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, James Pruitt; two brothers; and one sister.

Surviving are her son, Robert (Laura) Pruitt, Jr.; five grandchildren, Rick Pruitt of Tucson, AZ, Debra (Bill) Perry of Mapleton, Crystal (Danny) Miller of East Peoria, Jeanne Lea (Mike Burroughs) Pruitt-Burroughs of Peoria, and Kimberly (Patrick Murphy) Pruitt-Murphy of Roscoe; step-grandson, William (Cathleen) Schisler of Peoria; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

Helen loved to garden and spend time with her family.

Cremation has been accorded and there will be a private graveside service at Swan Lake Memory Gardens at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is handling arrangements.
