She was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on May 27, 1920, the daughter of John and Olive Leach Cressey. She married Boyd F. Goldsworthy in Peoria on September 4, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1987. She later married Dr. Robert E. Campbell in 1998.He also preceded her in death.
Helen is survived by two sons, John of Princeville, and James (Janet) Goldsworthy of Dunlap; five grandchildren, Heather (Pat) Thommen, Kayla Goldsworthy, Kendra (Derek) Prebula, Evan Marks and Kenneth Marks; and three great-grandchildren, Aubrianna, Peighton, Kortland.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters.
Helen was a member of First United Methodist Church.She was also involved with the Newcomer’s Club, Current Events Club, United Methodist Women, P.E.O. Chapter FB, American Association of University Women, and Chi-Omega.She was a Trustee at Illinois Wesleyan University and was very proud to have chaired the committee to build the Evelyn Chapel at IWU.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
A Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at First United Methodist Church of Peoria. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Dr. Robert Phillips and Dr. Terry Harter will officiate.
Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Illinois Wesleyan University to the Boyd F. Goldsworthy Endowed Scholarship Fund or the Helen Goldsworthy Campbell Endowed Scholarship Fund at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary.
