Harold "Gordon" Post

Harold "Gordon" Post, 89, of Peoria, formerly of Bartonville, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Manor Court at Liberty Village of Peoria. He was born on May 27, 1933 in St. David, a son of Harold S. and Belle (Wilcoxen) Post. Gordon married Grace Meister on June 3, 1956 in Peoria. She survives.

He is also survived by his two children, Pamela (Fred) Douglas of Dunlap and James "Jim" (Debbie) Post of Blue Grass, Iowa; four grandchildren, Amy Douglas, Jeffrey (Jenna) Douglas, Heather (Patrick) Kohlmeier and Amber (Matt) McCormick; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Glenn Post of Lewistown.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister.

He lived on many farms growing up until being called to serve his country in the United States Army as a corporal, a veteran of the Korean War, 1953-1955.

Gordon last worked as a supervisor for Caterpillar, Inc. for 15 years. He previously worked as a supervisor for Keystone Steel & Wire in Bartonville for 19 years. Following retirement, he worked several part-time jobs over the years.

Gordon enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling and vacationing. He was an avid gardener and very particular. Gordon and Grace enjoyed listening to gospel music and attended many concerts.

He last attended Northfield Christian Fellowship in Tremont and was a former member of Twelve Oaks Apostolic Christian Church in Peoria.

Gordon's funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 20, 2023 at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Pastors Jack Thompson and Don Stuber will officiate. His visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2023 also at the funeral chapel. An additional visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 20, 2023. There will be a private burial to take place at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Easter Seals or Disabled American Veterans.
