He was born on May 19, 1985 in Peoria, IL to Brenda Cattledge and Gregory L Hightower Sr.
Gregory leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Brenda Cattledge of Houston, his father, Gregory Hightower, Sr of Peoria and his dad, R.C. Thomas of Peoria, his six children, K. Green, Gabriella Hightower, Gavin Hightower, Giselle Hightower, Gianna Hightower, and Gionni Hightower, all of Houston, his five sisters, Elonda Cattledge of Houston, Lacisha Cattledge, Rakeisha (Ryan) Murray of Peoria, Shalice Thomas, and Shanice Thomas of Indianapolis, Indiana, his three brothers, Jordan Johnson of Las Vegas, Nevada, Deion Thomas of Florida, and R.C. Thomas, Jr of Tennessee, two God brothers, Johnny (Amanda) Glass Jr of Grand Rapids, MI and Joseph Glass of Jacksonville, FL and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Gregory received Christ at an early age and was baptized by John L Gibson at Rising Sun Missionary Baptist Church.
At the age of 12 Gregory worked as a paperboy delivering newspapers for the Peoria Journal Star, he also worked for Goodwill, McDonald’s, Sears, and Agatucci’s while attending Woodruff High School where he graduated in May, 2003.
On October 21, 2003, Gregory left for Naval Station Great Lakes near Chicago, IL to become a Seaman in the U.S. Navy.
Gregory received multiple awards totaling 23 ADV points from 2003-2022 completed 7 assignments from Japan, Florida, California, and Texas, while serving our country he also gained certification as a Master Electrician. Gregory also loved playing basketball in school, Gus Macker and overseas.
Gregory was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Freddie and Katie Cattledge, his paternal grandparents, Robert and Claudia Hightower, Annabelle Thomas and James Thomas Sr, and two uncles, Jimmy Cattledge and James Hightower.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at Sovereign Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Peoria. Pastor Alvin Riley, Sr will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
