He was born November 26, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY, a son of Angelo and Mary Tannucelli Riccitelli. He first married Eleanor Cahill they were married for 40 years when she preceded him in death. He later married Mathilda Sladky Howe on September 12, 1993. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Anthony (Donna) Riccitelli, Robert Riccitelli, and Christine (Anthony) Regno all of New York; two step daughters, Pat (Jack) Borum of Bartonville, and Christine (Sam) Beal of Peoria; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; and several cousins in New York.
He was preceded in death by parents, one son, John and one daughter, Rosemarie Kelly.
He was a WWII veteran.
John was employed by the City of New York in the Housing Preservation Department until his retirement.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandpa who loved baseball cards and bingo.
He was of Catholic faith.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2011 at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria is in charge of arrangements. Cremation rites have been accorded.
