Georgia Lee Solls

Georgia L. Solls passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, TN on Monday, March 31, 2025. Georgia was born on October 27, 1944, in Pocatello, ID. After living out West during her younger years, she settled in Peoria, IL in 1970. There, she met Joseph J. Solls, and they were married January 2, 1978.

Georgia was an active member of the Peoria community. She served on the PACE Board for years, playing a key role in organizing important community events such as Steamboat Days, Taste of Peoria, Brown Bag-It, and the annual Santa Clause Parade. She was also an active member of Peoria’s chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Komen for a Cure organization. When she wasn’t volunteering in the community, she was often cheering on the Chicago Cubs or Bears.

She is survived by one brother, Patrick Brooks, of Portland, OR, one niece, Nikki Morgan, of Memphis, TN, one stepson, Mark (Nancy) Solls of Dallas, TX, one stepdaughter Cindy Solls, of Dallas, TX; 4 grandchildren, Rob (Marissa) Solls, Michelle (Aaron) Schwarz, Jessica Solls, and Jack (Lauren McAlarney) Solls; 4 great-grandchildren, Connon, Skylar, Gavin, and Riley, and one “bonus” niece, Yolonda Westbrook from Memphis, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Loa Brooks, and one sister, Kerri L. Brooks-Achterberg.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel with Rev. Father Harold Camocho officiating. Entombment to follow at Parkview Mausoleum.
