She was born on March 16, 1934, a daughter of Frederick H. and Mabel A. (Lobdell) Young. She married Don H. Rees in 1954.
Emma is survived by her two sons, David H. (Karen Norman Rees) Rees of Peoria Heights and Mark C. Rees of Peoria; one granddaughter, Julianna Rees of Peoria Heights; brother, Fred Young of Huntley; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two nephews.
Emma last worked as a receptionist for Pro Review in Peoria, retiring in 1995. She previously worked as a secretary for John B. Williams Jr. Insurance Agency in Peoria.
She was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Peoria, where she was involved in many varied activities throughout the years. She also was a member of the Red Hat Society. Emma volunteered at Hines Grade School, Helping Hands Resale Shop, American Red Cross, Easter Seals Auxiliary and PARC/Ep!c.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 18, 2023, followed by a time of fellowship at First English Lutheran Church in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her church.
