Dr. Edward Pritzker, 66, of Morton, Illinois, died Friday, February 13, 2015 at 12:54 PM at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 12, 1948 in Peoria, Illinois to Hershel and Beulah (Nathan) Pritzker. Edward married Shirley Andrews on July 3, 1988 in Peoria, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, step-son Patrick Andrews, sons Nathan and Daniel Pritzker, daughter Jennifer Pritzker, as well as his much loved granddaughters Mya and Shane Andrews and daughter-in-law Kerin Andrews. Also surviving is his brother Ira (Irene) Pritzker, and sisters Margie Pritzker, Flo (Gary) Cramer, and Ellen Walker. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Phillip (Matt) Andrews. He was a loving husband, father, grand pa pa, son and brother.
Edward graduated from Central High School in Peoria in 1966, University of Illinois in 1970, and University of Illinois Medical School Chicago in 1974. Edward was a graduate of the Family Practice Residency at Methodist Medical Center of Peoria, Illinois in 1977, where he served as Chief Resident. He practiced Family Medicine in Peoria until his retirement on November 1, 2014. He was very honored to care for his patients over the years. He was a member of Agudas Achim Synagogue where he was very active in the Jewish community.
Funeral services will be Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Davison Fulton Woodland Chapel. The Rabbi Michael Arsers will officiate. A visitation will be from 11:30 AM until services at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Peoria Hebrew Cemetery in West Peoria, Illinois. The Pritzker family requests no flowers but memorials may be made to Agudas Achim Synagogue of Peoria, Illinois, Peoria Rescue Ministries, or the education fund for Mya and Shane Andrews at the Tremont Community Bank.
