Dorothy Lorraine Stevens

Born July 11, 1933 in Depue, Illinois to Joseph and Victoria Wozniak; she married Edward Stevens on July 26, 1963 in LaSalle, Illinois and he preceded her in death on February 13, 2005.

Also preceding in death were her brothers, Robert and Raymond and her sister, Dolores.

Surviving are her sons, Rich Higgins of Peoria and Tom (Kim Scheirer) Stevens of Santa Maria, California; and her three grandchildren, Kyle, Kevin and Megan Stevens. She loved her grandchildren very much and was known to them as Grandma Boo.

Dorothy enjoyed working at the former Commercial National Bank in Peoria, the Hiram Walker’s Distillery and the Reservoir Senior Nutrition Site.

She always enjoyed her snowbird trips to California and while there she was a member of the Scarlet Ladies of Oasis Chapter 63887 and the St. Louis Demontfort Parish Fifty Plus Club.

There will be a memorial mass this Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10:30 am at St Jude Catholic Church in Dunlap in her honor.

Cremation has been accorded by Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Inurnment will be at the Dudley Hoffman Memory Gardens in Santa Maria, California.

Memorials are suggested to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
