She was born July 6, 1917 in Kilbourne, Illinois to Edward and Verla (Upp) Loeffler. She married Ernest Dearing on December 9, 1939 in Palmyra, MO. He died March 8, 1974 in Peoria. She was preceded in death by two sons, David and Randy; two sisters and two brothers.
Surviving are her son Dean (Shari) Dearing of Dunlap; her daughter Janet Gonzalez of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren, Chris (Janine) Dearing, Princeville, IL, Amy (Brian) Pfautsch of Plainfield, IL, Tara (Mark) Stocker and Lori Dearing both of Park City, Utah, Roberto (Stacie) Gonzalez of Houston, TX and Tomas Gonzalez of San Antonio, Texas. She also has eleven great grandchildren.
Doris retired from Bergner’s in Pekin after many years of services as a sales clerk.
The Dearing family would like to express their sincere thanks to OSF St. Francis Medical Center and all their staff for the wonderful care, service, and compassion provided to Doris and her family.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2011 at St Jude Catholic Church in Peoria. Father Patrick Henehan will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services from 10 am to 11am at the church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the St Jude’s Catholic School Fund, “Building God’s Kingdom”.
