Diane was born on October 16, 1949 in Corder, MO to Norman and Frieda (Koehler) Schreier. She married Darwin Carrell on May 26, 1974. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2004 in Peoria. Also preceding her in death were her parents and one sister, Debbie Draper.
Surviving are her two daughters, Sarah Carrell of Peoria and Julia Carrell of East Peoria, five nieces and nephews, Kerri Draper, Kyle Draper, Kerek Draper, Angela Carrell, and Brian Carrell all of Missouri.
Diane received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Concordia University and was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Peoria. She served with the Care Ministry at Redeemer and drove for the Cancer Society. Diane was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, traveling, putting puzzles together and playing cards with her friends.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. A funeral service will be Friday, June 16, 2023 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Peoria. Pastor Chip Winter will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
