Dennis A. McIntire

Dennis A. McIntire, Sr., 70, of Peoria, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 16, 2014, in Peoria, surrounded by his family. He was born September 12, 1943 to Raymond and Lillian (Terensky) McIntire. He married Joan Alice Patterson on January 31, 1965; she preceded him in death on June 5, 1990. He then married Patricia A. Suits on June 25, 1992. She survives.

Dennis is also survived by three children; Dennis (Carrie) McIntire, Jr. of East Peoria, IL, Douglas (Joy) McIntire of Peoria, IL, Angela (Gary) Taylor of Galesburg, IL, seven siblings; Beverly (James) Bridges of Bartonville, IL, Verna Wozniak of Peoria, IL, Jack (Nancy) McIntire of Peoria, IL, Raymond (JoAnn) McIntire of Galesburg, IL, Ralph McIntire of Grainger, IN, Dorie (Norman) Trompeter of Sioux City, IA, Peggy McIntire of Germantown Hills, IL. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Dennis worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company as a Machine Repairman, and retired from CAT in 1994. He enjoyed playing all types of card games with his friends and family. He had many passions, some of his favorite being antique cars and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia. His favorite past time of all though was taking his grandchildren to their different activities ranging from ball games to dance class.

Services for Dennis will be held Thursday March 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Davison Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Matt Synnott will officiate. Entombment will follow the funeral service at Swan Lake Cemetery.

Memorial Donations in honor of Dennis may be made to The American Heart Association or Fresenius Dialysis Center.
