Dawn Marie Anderson

She was born February 18, 1959, in Montreal, Canada to her parents, Josephine Hatfield and Lonnie Boyd. She later resided with her adopted parents, George and Goldie (Benford) Boyd. She married Ray Anderson on April 28, 1981, in Peoria, IL. Dawn was a housewife and drove a School Bus for Limestone School District several years ago. She enjoyed shopping, garage sales, and watching the Wizard of Oz and In the Heat of the Night with her husband.

She leaves behind 12 children: Shakira Hayden of Riviera Beach, FL, Raenisha Anderson of Atlanta, GA, Maria Anderson of Peoria, IL, Goldie (Deandra) Boyd-Franklin of Peoria, Pamela (Charlie) Alexander of Peoria, IL, Robert (Andrea) Anderson of Tampa, FL, Alexis Anderson of Peoria, IL, Arianna (De’ounte) Anderson of Peoria, IL, Raheem Anderson of Peoria, IL, Kametria (Joe H.) Davis of Dallas, TX, Ray Anderson Jr of Raleigh, NC, and Valerie Anderson of Peoria, IL.

She leaves behind over 30 grandchildren, over 30 great-grandchildren, a multitude of nieces and nephews, cousins, and three sisters: Kathy (Michael) Boddie of Peoria, Jean McIntyre of New Brunswick, Canada, and Irene Gibson of Montreal, Canada.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, Erica Johnson, and her brother, George Gibson.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 14, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services, 10 am to 11 am.

Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
