Thanks for everything, Dave!  You made growing up special with my family.

I worked at Lums In Peoria when I was 18 years old.. 40 years ago When it was Dave and Ernies Lums as a cashier then when I was old enough was a server.. worked at the one on University For about 5 Years..then I worked Lums Pekin Mall for about 9 years..best job I ever had.. never felt like I was just irking because I loved it so much.. I adored the people ther.. I'm on Facebook is other a few..I was always treated with dignity and respect from him.. I still talk to people about Lums and how much the community misses it..me also..Rip Dave

Ken and I are so sorry to hear of Dave's passing.  He was a wonderful friend of Ken's for many years especially during their fishing trip years and before that with the guys at Lum's.   We are sorry for your loss.

I had the pleasure to know Dave through mutual interests in hunting, the outdoors, Lum's and St Jude. I will always remember him for his upbeat and genuinely friendly personality, and his remarkable multiple resilience from medical setbacks; I swore he immortal at one point!! My condolences, and prayers for him, his wife Joann and his family. He was a quality person who made a difference in others lives. I will miss his ever smiling face!

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Dave. My condolences to all of you. He was a wonderful man. I have many fond memories of him and you guys growing up. As I told my mom at least Dad (Bob Gibbs) has one of his Lums morning coffee guys with him now. Sending love and prayers to you all.

I worked for Dave at Lum's and he sat me down and gave me advice about what great customer service really entailed. I never forgot that moment and carried his advice into the future. I really enjoyed working with him because just like the customers, he believed in giving his employees his best. My prayers are with you all.

I grew up in Peoria and Lums was such a huge part of my teen years. I really don't know what we would have done without it. I worked for Dave at Lums while in high school and college at Bradley.  Dave Ryan's leadership formed the foundation of my own business leadership and the lessons that Dave taught me as a young man I have used  to guide me though my career from a new manager to senior vice president of human resources.  He is one of the best men I have ever known and it was an honor.  My prayers are with his family that he loved very much.
