He was born Feb. 14, 1937 in Jacksonville, IL to James and June (Ryman) Myers. He married Shirley Howe on Aug. 4, 1962 in Peoria. She survives along with one son, Robert F. (Yuliia) Myers of Morris, IL, one daughter, Glenda F. (Kevin Kouri) Myers of East Peoria, three granddaughters: Marie, Michelle, and Anastasia Myers all of Morris, and one brother, Lee Myers of Grand Prairie, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, one sister, and one step-sister.
Ed was a paratrooper in the United States Army serving from 1954 to 1957. He worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 35 years retiring as a Research Technician in 1998. He was a member of the Local 974, and member and caretaker of the Radnor Rod and Gun Club in Dunlap. He also attended the First Church of Nazarene of Peoria.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 4, 2018 at 6 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Visitation will be two hours prior to the services. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
