He was born Oct. 29, 1933 in Peoria to Anthony Holzinger and Ruth (Fisher) Hess. He married Catherine “Kay” Lowe on July 10, 1953 in Peoria. She passed away Aug. 3, 2020 in Peoria. He is also preceded in death by his parents, and two nephews: Tony and Scott Holzinger.
Survivors include four siblings: Jackie Roach of Ft. Collins, CO, Larry Holzinger of Pennsylvania, Cheryl Hess of Peoria, Pam (Bob) Weber of Peoria, three step-brothers, and two step-sisters. He is also survived by five nephews: Mike Roach, Kevin Holzinger, Rick Holzinger, Brian Weber, Brad Weber, and three nieces: Julie Burgard, Susan Roach, and Tarin Gribble.
Chuck was a Design Engineer for Caterpillar Inc. for 40 years. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria.
Chuck loved to travel with his wife Kay in the many trailer campers they owned over the years. They traveled across the country camping, boating, fishing and enjoying the outdoors.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
Memorials may be made to St Jude Midwest Affiliate or OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois.
