He was born on May 15, 2013 in Peoria to David and Meghann (Dermott) Schwartz.
He is survived by his loving parents; paternal grandparents, Daniel Lee and Anita Schwartz; maternal grandparents, Donald Lee and Patricia Poll; his great-grandparents, Stanley and Flora Schwartz, and Mary Lou Holt; his Aunt Lauren (Uncle Sean) Wilhite, Uncle Greg (Aunt Tracey) Schwartz, and cousins Joey, Miles, Benjamin, and Everett, and so many other extended family members.
From his smile to his tenacity for making others laugh, Caleb brought much light and joy into the lives of everyone he encountered. His desire to bring others happiness was only overshadowed by his love of being outdoors. Through his daily walks around the neighborhood to playing catch, frisbee, or on his swing set, Caleb would spend all day outside if he could. In fact, going on R.V. camping trips were the best of everything. If he wasn’t outside, he was reading, listening to stories or music on his Yoto, playing board games, putting together puzzles, or just playing with his action figure “guys”. He worked incredibly hard in school and excelled at spelling and math. A special time of the week was ‘Sunday Night Family Movie Night’ with Mom and Dad. No matter what he was doing, as long as it was with people he loved (and he loved everyone), Caleb was at his happiest.
Caleb received incredible care from his home nurses Amanda S., Amanda T., Rosemary, and Terricka, as well as the teams at the Children’s Hospital of Illinois. He grew academically and was ready for 5th grade because of his teacher for the past four years, DeVonna.
