He was born on June 16, 1942 in Kansas City, MO to Guy T. and Phyllis M. (Muckernheider) Shiverdecker. They precede him in death.
Bruce is survived by his wife Barbara (Hill) Shiverdecker, whom he married on November 18, 1967 in Philadelphia, PA. Also surviving is his son; Eric (Sandi) Shiverdecker and Granddaughter Kinsey Shiverdecker, all of East Peoria.
Bruce was a wood turning artist, a member of Arts Partners, a Charter member of the Bohemian Art Society, a member of the Peoria Woodworkers, member of Caterpillar Square Dance Club, a founding Charter member of Central Illinois Electrical League, and a member of DeMolay.
Bruce was a veteran of the US Navy. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing and bowling, and also participating in the Senior Olympics.
A celebration of life visitation will be held from 10 – 11 AM, Friday August 15, 2014 at Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home, 2408 West Willow Knolls Drive, Peoria. Entombment will be held at Resurrection Mausoleum, with Navy Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice home in Peoria.
