He was born December 19, 1942 in Binghamton, NY to Josiah and Helen (Perkinson) Colley. He married Margaret Ebert on July 11, 1970 in Washington, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are his brother, Dr. David (Barbara) Colley of Branford, CT; nieces Anne Colley of New York, NY, and Erin (Mark) Monroe of Hartford, CT; brother-in-law, Bob (Sherry) Ebert of Washington, sister-in-law, Donna Duncan of Peoria, niece Connie Gee of Washington and nephew Curt Ebert of Henry.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Chris Ebert.
Bruce received his Bachelors Degree from Denison University and his Masters Degree from the University of Cincinnati. He worked in Parts Marketing and Dealer Operations for Caterpillar Inc. for 32 years until retiring in 2001. Bruce and Marg lived in Fresno, CA; Denver, CO; and Hong Kong, prior to returning to Peoria in 1980. Bruce served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He was a member of Arrowhead Golf Club, where he had most of his 7 holes in one, the Central Illinois Parkinson's Support Group and was affectionately known as "Tequila" at Rock Steady Boxing.
Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria.
