Bonnie L. Tyler

She was born Aug. 23, 1925 in Adams County, IL to William and Anna (Grotegin) Schaffnit. She married Robert Tyler Oct. 8, 1944 in Quincy. He passed away July 27, 2002 in East Peoria. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Paul and Everett Schaffnit.

Survivors include two sons: Robert Tyler, Jr. of Houston, TX, William (Caryl) Tyler of Peoria, five grandchildren: Julie, Holly, Daniel, Joshua, Timothy Tyler, and one great-grandson, Alexander Tyler.

Bonnie was a Vision and Hearing Technician first for District 150 and later for the Peoria County Health Department retiring in 1982.

She was a member of First Federated Church. She volunteered and was a board member at Common Place and was very active at the Peoria Habitat for Humanity.

Funeral services will be Friday Sep. 30, 2011 at 11 a.m. at First Federated Church in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Friday at the church. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to her church or Common Place.
