Betty J. Dixon

Betty was born on July 3, 1928 in Peoria to Chester and Darline Dobbins. She married Jack "John" D.

Dixon, Sr. on October 5, 1952.

Surviving are her husband of 62 years, John; her two children, Debra Jean (Bill) Reardon of East Peoria, IL

and John David Dixon of Germantown Hills, IL; three grandchildren, Steven (Sarah) Reardon of

Sunnyland, IL, and John Ross "J.R." Dixon and Josh David Dixon, both of Germantown Hills, IL; and two

great-grandsons, Cooper Brock and Cruz David Reardon, both of Sunnyland, IL. She was preceded in

death by her parents.

Betty was a graduate of Woodruff High School and she attended Bradley University. She spent four

years in California with her parents before returning to Peoria to marry her husband and become a

domestic engineer and devoted housewife.

Betty supported her husband and children with love and understanding in all their endeavors. She

served on various committees at the Germantown Grade School and the First Presbyterian Church,

gift shop at Wildlife Prairie State Park. Betty also loved to travel, journeying all over the United States,

Canada and Europe.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a private family graveside service will be held at Swan Lake

Memory Gardens in Peoria. Memorials may be made to the United Presbyterian Church in Peoria.
