He was born Feb. 6, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY to Sam and Olga (Burakov) Katz. He first married Marilyn Noskin in June 1952. She passed away March 3, 1988 in Raleigh. He later married Frances Thornton in March 1990 in Raleigh. She passed away on October 5, 2012 in Raleigh. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one son, Curtis Katz, one sister Clara Labenow, and two brothers: Charles Katz and Michael Kelvin.
Survivors include two sons: Rabbi Kenneth Katz of Madison, WI, Dr. Seth (Barb) Katz of Peoria, IL; seven grandchildren: Miriam, Tova, Yael, Rachelle, Mara, Sophie, Elie; and one great-grandson, Brenner.
Arthur was a United States Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He worked for ITT as an Electronics Engineer for 30 years retiring in 1988. He was an avid Ham Radio operator and model railroader, and was a 75-year member of the ARRL, and a long-time member of the Raleigh Area Radio Society and the North Raleigh Model Railroad Club.
Funeral services will be Friday Dec. 21, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria.
Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery in Fairview, NJ on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018 at 11:30 a.m.
