Born on July 28, 1943, in Drew, MS, he was the son of Bunion Sr. and Marie (Liston) Jackson. On December 14, 2012, he married Annie Pate, who survives him.
In his youth, Albert loved basketball and also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling. As an adult, his passion for traveling grew stronger and his love for gardening bloomed and was shared by his wife, Annie. Albert was a regular at the gym and well-known amongst the weightlifters. When not traveling, dining out with Annie or at the gym, he enjoyed watching the “news”, “shoot’em up” Westerns, or cheering for the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics. Albert dedicated 36 years to a career that perfectly blended hard work with his love for adventure. He began his career as a machinist at Caterpillar and later embraced his passion for travel as a long-haul truck driver. Albert retired in 2003, leaving a legacy of hard work and continued appreciation for the open road and adventure. Throughout his journey, Albert’s love for adventure was always intertwined with his deep faith. As a faithful member of the All Nation Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ for more than 45 years, Albert served the Lord as a choir member, bus driver and in his later years, a Trustee and Deacon until his death. He enjoyed listening to gospel music and reading God’s Word.
Albert is survived by his two sons, Norman (Holly) Jackson of Des Moines, IA, and Patrick Jackson of Peoria; his grand/adopted daughter, Tasha Kinney of Lakeland, FL; and seven stepchildren: Lewis Pate, Michelle Yates, Felicia (John) Kyulule, and LaShauna (Tim) Gordon, all of Peoria, as well as Reginald Hunn of Peoria, Arnold Hunn of Indianapolis, IN, and Lester Hunn of Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by his two siblings, Bunion Jackson, Jr. and Mary Robinson, both of Peoria, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Carolyn Jackson; his late spouse, Eva (Hunn) Jackson; three siblings, Ernest Jackson, Jessie McDonald, and Dollie Creswell; and a stepson, Kenny Hunn.
