Bubba was born on December 2nd, 1947 to William Gregory Mabry and Josephine Carroll Mabry at Naval Hospital Pensacola. He was married to Denise Hodnette Mabry for 51 years. He was an avid baseball player, and he coached his sons Will and Greg’s Little League teams. He loved his family… and Alabama Football of course! He was known for his humor. He kept everyone in stitches with his hilarious jokes and impersonations.
He graduated from PHS in 1965. He received his Business Degree from Mobile College and worked with his father at their family business, Pioneer Iron Works, until his retirement. Bill coached numerous baseball teams and loved every minute of it. Bill and Denise were very active at Pinewoods Presbyterian Church for numerous years. They served as the Youth Directors and also the Youth Choir. He sang in the choir at Brownsville Assembly of God from 1995-2000. Singing was one of his favorite things to do.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gregory C Mabry, his sister Mary Louise Mabry Mancil, his mother-in-law Denise Leitch Hodnette and his father-in-law Dr. Frank Brooks Hodnette and godmother Laura P. Stephens.
Bill is survived by his wife of 51 years, Denise Hodnette Mabry, daughter Allison Mabry, son Will Mabry (Leigh Anne), son Gregory Mabry (Catherine), granddaughter Ava Mabry, grandson Jackson Mabry, brother Jody Mabry and numerous family and friends.
The family would like to thank Amy at Select Physical Therapy, Kathy at STAT Homehealth, the staff at The Woodlands, Ochsner Medical Center and Vitas Hospice for all their love and care.
A Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, June 15th from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Bayveiw Fisher-Pou Chapel on Scenic Hwy.
