Warren Clayce Lamb Sr., 96 of Johnson City, TN, passed away on September 17, 2017.
The memorial service was held at 4pm, September 19, 2017 at Cornerstone Village chapel in Johnson City. Burial with military honors will be held at Bayview Memorial Park, Pensacola, FL, on September 23, 2017.
Clayce was born in Pittsburg, PA on March 31, 1921. He graduated from Redstone High School in Republic, PA. After his freshman year at the West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV, he entered the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Clayce, member of the class of 1944, graduated in 1943 due to the need for officers during World War II. He served on the cruiser USS Philadelphia. After the war, he was trained as a naval pilot and served on the USS Leyte during the Korean War.
Clayce was married to Nancy Miller Lamb on May 16, 1959; they were married 51 years prior to her death in 2010.
Clayce worked as a technical writer for Westinghouse for most of his career. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and reading. He was also actively involved in teaching English as a second language and adult education in a Florida prison.
Clayce is survived by son, Warren Lamb of Elizabethton, TN, and daughter, Susan Lamb Walker of Mobile, AL, and their families.
