Vera was the proud owner of Navy Exxon for seven years. The won many awards from Exxon Company for her achievements as a female business owner.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother Mathis T. Sr. and Gladys Lambert.
She married to James Bell, he survives along with seven terrific brothers and sisters, Charles (Mary) Lambert, Irene Herring, Inez Roach, Mathis (Kay) Lambert, Jeanette (Hillary) Carnley, Mary Ham and Marsha Chase; and a special cousin, Bitsy (Joe) Del Marco.
She is also survived by her six loving children, La Don (Gina) Martin, Denise (Todd) Burson, Kimberly Craig, James (Leslie) Bell, John Bell and DeeDra Kelley; her nine grandchildren, Seth, Jonathon, Jessica, Samantha, Troy, Cody, Taylor, Heather and Colby; one great grandchild, Chase Ryan; numerous other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be Sunday October 3, 2010 at 2 PM at the Chapel of Eastern Gate Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Union Hill Cemetery.
