Thelma Fayne Todd, known to her loved ones as Fayne of Gulf Breeze, FL passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 26, 2023, at the age of 93. She was born on August 29, 1930, in Meridian, Mississippi, to Callie and Robert Wilkinson.
Fayne attended Murphy High School, graduating in 1948. After completing her education, she embarked on a short career as a Telephone Operator at Southern Bell Telephone Co. She then married and became a wonderful homemaker and wife, where she spent the rest of her days taking care of her beloved family.
Outside of her family life, Fayne was a woman of many passions and interests. She was a fabulous cook and enjoyed spending time in the kitchen. Fayne also found joy in playing Bridge and Bunco, where she showcased her competitive spirit. She dedicated her time to volunteering at Bay Breeze and served as a hospital auxiliary Pink Lady. Fayne was also an active member of various organizations, including the Santa Rosa Women's Club and the Hickory Shores Homeowners Association, where she served as treasurer. During her free time, she loved to keep up with current events and had a great appreciation for music, particularly Tom Jones and Rod Stewart. She was an avid college football fan, especially Auburn, Georgia, LSU, and sometimes Florida State. She loved watching the games on Saturdays, she always made a point to know who was playing who and when. She mostly rejoiced when Alabama lost!
Fayne was preceded in death by her loving husband, William "Bill" Todd, and her parents. Fayne will be deeply missed by her children; Robert William Todd and wife Terri Todd, as well as Dani Whetstone, husband David Whetstone, Jeana Dorow, and husband Chris Dorow. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Kalli Todd, Will Todd, Leah Todd, Ben Todd, Matt Whetstone, Allison Whetstone, Abigail Dorow, Grace Dorow, and Brenlen Dorow.
In memory of Fayne, contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, or Turning Point Ministries, both organizations held a special place in her heart.
The Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, located at 3351 Scenic Highway 90e in Pensacola, Florida, will be assisting with the arrangements for Fayne's final farewell. She will be laid to rest at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola alongside her husband Bill.
