1936 - 2013
Sylvia Marie Schultz Pace, 76, of Pensacola, passed away on September 7, 2013. "Gypsy" was born in Pensacola to Golda Mae and Henry Schultz on November 14, 1936.
She went to Pensacola High School and graduated in 1954. She married Thomas Franklin Pace in 1955. She was intelligent, beautiful, hardworking, a wonderful mother and wife. She loved to garden and do crossword puzzles. She was a great cook and had recipes that the whole family loved, like her meatloaf. She was a seamstress for the family, from weddings to Halloween costumes to regular every day clothes.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Pace; parents, Golda Mae and Henry Schultz; brother John (Pete) Schultz.
She is survived by her daughters, Karon Dey and husband, Tom; Desiree Garrison and husband, Gil; Valerie Wirtz and husband, Rich; brother, Paul and wife Becky. Five grandchildren, Thomas Tritt and wife, Wanda; Judd Tritt and wife, Yoshie; Desiree' Tritt; Adam Wirtz and Billy Wirtz. Three great-grandchildren, Zoe Alvarez, Rina Tritt and Bryce Cornelius.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are to be made to Covenant Hospice.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the family, friends and Covenant Hospice of Milton and Pensacola for their support in her final days.
Visitation with reception will be held at Oak Lawn Funeral Home on Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 5pm to 7pm. The funeral service will be held at Oak Lawn Funeral Home on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 1pm, with burial to follow at Barrancas National Cemetery at 2pm. In memory of Gypsy's positive spirit, family and friends are invited to wear the color yellow. Oak Lawn Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
