Sam was born in Chicago, Illinois to Pauline Booze and Curt Walker on May 17, 1941. He married Dorothy on November 22, 1969 in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
Sam joined the Navy in 1961, was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He served 30 years in the Navy and was awarded several metals and accommodations. After retiring from the Navy he worked offshore Oil Rigs in food service for 22 years.
Sam is preceded in death by his parents and stepfather Lewis Baker Sr., his grandson Keith G. Walker and three sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Walker, daughter Dorothea V. Walker, sisters Evangelist Evelyn Cifax, Sharon Proffitt, Felicia Smith and brother Lewis Baker Jr.

A Visitation for Sam will be held Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Road, Pensacola, FL 32506. A Memorial Service will follow from
1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, with Graveside Service 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm at Barrancas National Cemetery.
