Robert (Bob) Brannon King, 80, passed away on April 7, 2011.
He was born on February 19, 1931 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
His Mother and Dad, Frances P. Brannon King and James F. King, preceded him in death as did his brother, James Francis King, sister-in-law, Marie King and sister, Jacqueline Monroe.
Bob served in the Korean War as a member of the Air Force and was an active member of the American Legion since his discharge from service. At the time of his death, Bob belonged to Post 379.
He was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church since 1971.
His career started off in sales and advertising and then he became a successful small business owner of King’s Sewing Center. Bob loved his family, baseball, country music, the Blue Angels and Pensacola Beach.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Joan King, three daughters, Deborah King, Peggy Hodges; son-in-law Keith Hodges, Patti King-Warner; son-in-law Mark Warner and son Steven King; daughter-in-law Melissa King. Six grandsons: Taylor Wells, Scott Hodges; granddaughter-in-law, Shanna Hodges, Garett Wells, Darick Wells, Brian Hodges, Brannon King. Three granddaughters: Erin Phillips, Shelbi Warner, Nicolette King. Two great-granddaughters: Alexa and Allie Hodges. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Lucille Nuthals, five brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 15th, 2011 at 4:00PM at St. Mark United Methodist Church, 2203 North 12th Avenue, 32503.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Covenant Hospice, 2001 North Palafox St., 32501 or St. Mark United Methodist Church (Faith Fund), 2203 North 12th Avenue, 32503.
