Robert E. Hill, 87, of Cantonment, Florida passed away on June 8, 2021. He was born in Joiner, Arkansas on November 23, 1933 to Delma and Robert Hill. He was married to Joan Hill for 44 years. Bob was an Entrepreneur. Over the past 40 years he owned and operated many businesses in Pensacola, including E-Z Rent It, Inc., Party World, Inc., Flower World, Inc., Bob Hill Enterprises, Hill Tractor, One Step Medical, Fix It Shop and Hill Pharmacy.
Bob was a member of the East Pensacola Lions Club, Hadji Shrine Antique Car Club and was a Mason with Escambia Lodge #15 in Pensacola, FL.
He was a private pilot and had a passion for small planes. He loved traveling and exploring the good ole USA. He also loved spending time with his family and friends over a good meal and “swapping lies” as he would say. He also had a passion for antique cars, motorcycles and nascar.
Bob was a very kind, hospitable and generous person. He was always encouraging and never cared to be the center of attention. He was happiest when he was helping others and his patient and calm personality made him an excellent teacher. He smiled the brightest when he helped someone learn or master a skill, especially if they were working with their hands.
His girls were his life and he even became a private pilot so he could fly to Birmingham any time he wanted so that he could spend time with them.
Although he had 3 girls, he was determined to teach them that girls could do ANYTHING they set their mind to. He was what they call a “Girl Dad” before it was cool… Making him the Best Dad ever!
He could make you feel like you were the most wonderful person on the planet. Never one to complain or be negative. Anytime someone asked, “How Are You Doing” he would answer with a “Great” or “Fantastic” even on his deathbed. I think it’s pretty safe to say he was the Eternal Optimist and he is indeed doing great!
He was greeted in heaven by his youngest daughter Sharon Hill Aydelott, his parents and his three brothers Carlos, Don and Bud.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Joan Hill; daughters Pamela Hill and Patricia Hawkins (Buddy); stepson David Wilson of Paris, France; stepdaughter Gwen Wilson Khalil (Mohammed); sisters Jeanette Williamson of North Carolina and Wanda Warnick (David) of Oneonta, AL; grandchildren Justin Allender (Heather) of Orlando, FL; Brianna Allender and Elizabeth “Biz” Aydelott; great grandchildren Benjamin Allender, Levi Allender; special friends Sheng Chee “Stella” Saba (Paul) , Joy Hernandez and Wanda Lewis and many beloved nieces and nephews.
N, seven, zero, two, three, Quebec was lovingly greeted by his Savior, daughter, family and friends. Good Day Sir! Good Day!
