Robert “Bob” Henry Gaylord, 80, of Pensacola, passed away October 19, 2017. He was born October 10, 1937 in Newark, NJ to the late Henry and Irene Gaylord. Bob had a distinguished 30 year Navy career and retired in 1984 as a Command Master Chief (E-9). Just a few of Bob’s duty stations were NAS Gitmo Cuba, NAF Sigonella Sicily, Dhahran Saudi Arabia, NAS Brunswick Maine, NAS Cecil Field and numerous ships to include the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower and USS John F. Kennedy. Bob enjoyed golf and was an avid bowler. He spent decades bowling with his friends at NAS bowling center, Corry Station, and Circle lanes. He spent many years coaching youth bowlers at NAS bowling center.
Bob was predeceased by Marilyn in 2010, his bride of 48 years. He is survived by his children, Lisa Everett (Martin) of Covington PA, Sheila Barber (Frank Twiss) of Pensacola, Douglas Gaylord (Marti) of Niceville Florida, and Philip Gaylord (Gwen) of Osprey Florida. In addition, he leaves behind grandchildren, Tristan, Ashley, Zachary, Ryan, and Tanner as well as great grandchildren Camden and Gunner. Bob is survived by sister, Mary (Joseph) Nybeck and was predeceased by brother; Thomas Kranz in 1992.

Visitation will be Friday, November 3 from 11:30 to 1:30 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 N New Warrington Road. A graveside service with full military honors will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
