Rita Elizabeth (Welch) Rispoli

Rita Elizabeth (Welch) Rispoli, of Coral Springs, Florida, and Lillian, Alabama, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023, at the age of 97. She was born on April 7, 1926, in Greenpoint Brooklyn, New York. She was raised by her parents in Brooklyn and Queens, New York. After her husband's retirement, Rita moved to Florida in 1976.

She graduated from Newtown High School. Rita first worked in Manhattan at Bonwit Teller and later worked as a secretary at Electrolux.

On April 19, 1952, she married her husband, Daniel. Rita was actively involved in her church, Resurrection Ascension, as a member of the Rosary Society and as leader of the Junior Glee Club. She had a love for music and dancing. Rita was a big dog lover. Other hobbies she enjoyed were sewing and painting. Her personality was fun, always ready for a family gathering or celebration at her home. Her family and her faith were the most important things to her.

Rita is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Daniel Howard Rispoli, Sr. (2013); her parents, Henry T. Welch and Justine V. Frisse; her brothers, Phillip Welch and Henry T. Welch, Jr. and her daughter-in-law, Lori Titcombe Rispoli.

She is survived by her 7 children, Rita Porter (Don), Mary Rispoli, Daniel Rispoli, Jr., Cathleen Jarboe (Joe), Elizabeth Hobbs (Tony), Michael Rispoli and Paul Rispoli, as well as 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Rita was a devoted and loving wife and mother, always providing unwavering support to those in her life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Rosary Service for Rita will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 10:30 AM at St Joseph Catholic Church, 12688 Santa Piedro St, Lillian, AL, 36549, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to attend.
