Paul Alva Taylor Sr, 77, of Jay, Florida passed away on 11 August 2021. Paul was born in Joplin, Missouri on 30 September 1943 to Paul Logan and Mary Louise Danner. He was married to the love of his life, Valarie Jean Varnes, for 58 years. Paul worked in the United States Navy and later in Civil Service. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints and held several callings throughout his ministry. When he wasn’t busy with missionary work, Paul also had a passion for gardening and fishing.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Louise Taylor; two brothers, Gordon Taylor and Craig Taylor of Missouri; two sons, Phillip Andrew Taylor and Patrick Allen Taylor, and his mother-in-law, Mildred Margaret Varnes “Gigi”.
He is survived by his wife, Valarie Taylor, son Paul Alva Taylor Jr, daughter Tamela Lynn Jablow (Benjamin Jablow) of Tampa, Florida; sister, Charlotte Shear (Dan Shear); brothers Larry Taylor (Linda Taylor) and John Taylor (Carla Taylor); grandson, Samuel Dean Jablow; daughter. Stacie Dawn Taylor (Phillip Andrew Taylor); grandson, Joshua Allen Taylor; Granddaughter, Kaitlyn Nicole Taylor Weeks (Thomas Ray Weeks); and great-grandsons Easton Drew Weeks and Hunter Wade Weeks of Crestview, Florida.
Paul is survived by his loving family of fur babies (Shadow, Ruby, Amy, Kokmoko, Peaches, Gracie Baby, and Patches, who was Paul’s favorite nurse), and he thanks them for many hours of cuddle time.
