Paul Chadwick Kirkland was born on April 10, 1972, in Mobile, Alabama. He grew up a fun, talkative, and adventurous child, and that never left him. He attended St. Paul’s High School, Foley High School, and graduated from McGill-Toolen High School. After High School, He chose to attend culinary school in Portland, Oregon. However, his true calling was Real Estate He has been a highly recognized and award winning Realtor for the last 19 years, most recently with Coldwell Banker Coastal Realty in Gulf Shores, Alabama He loved his work and it showed. His first year, he was named Rookie of the Year. He received the Titan Award, International Diamond Society, President’s Elite, Top Sales Agent, Top Listing Agent and #1 Agent at Coldwell Banker Coastal Realty in 2022.
He was married to the love of his life, Heather. They met and knew after the first date, they would be married. Chad asked Heather to marry him after 6 months of dating. They knew they were “meant to be”. He called her his Angel, but now he is hers. They both knew how much they meant to each other. Eternal love. Together they have two smart and wonderful children. Their son, Paul Jackson, was his best friend and he would tell everyone that would listen. Together they fished tournaments, hunted, went to concerts and just had a blast together. His daughter, Marigrace, was the apple of his eye. She had him wrapped around her little finger from day one. He loved to watch her cheer. He was always in the stands yelling her name. He loved her smart and spunky personality.
Chad was a very dedicated and loving husband, father, and friend who loved his family wholeheartedly.
He had a love for the outdoors. Some of his favorite times were fishing, surfing, and hunting with his children and friends (probably on the phone closing a deal or two). He had a passion for music. He enjoyed playing his guitar and attending concerts. Chad enjoyed surfing and passed that love on to his son and daughter. He loved spending time in the kitchen and preparing delicious meals for his family. He was also known as the King of the Grill. He treasured his time with friends and family and his beloved dog, MooMoo. There is no place he would rather be than doing the things he loved with those he loved, and he never missed a chance to tell you how much you meant to him and how much he loved you.
Chad will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, contagious smile, quick wit, and charm. He never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel so special. He could always put a smile on your face. He had an uncanny ability to find happiness in his daily activities. He loved large and was easy to love. Chad will be deeply missed by the many lives he touched.
Chad is survived his loving wife of 19 years, Heather Mize Kirkland; his son and best friend, Paul Jackson Kirkland; his daughter and his princess, Marigrace Kirkland, Heather’s sisters, whom Chad considered his own, Melanie Mize, and Melissa (Steve) Jenne. He is survived by Heather’s parents, Jane and Jack Mize. He is survived by a group of young men who made him feel like their second dad. Thank you for always making Chad the life of your parties, too. He loved all of you. He also loved his niece and nephews, friends and extended family.
His family knows he surfed the raddest wave through those pearly gates and settled in playing Jack Johnson on his guitar by a bonfire wearing crocs and fishing sunglasses. We know he has invited everyone in heaven to go fishing (or hunting already while whipping up a pot of gumbo. )
Chad would want to be remembered with a funny story that celebrates his amazing life. His family will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest and continuing in the Real Estate business like he wanted. He will be missed every day until the family is reunited in Heaven.
There will be a beachside Celebration of life on August 26, 2023, at
5:45 PM at 2240 Ponce De Leon Court, Gulf Shores, AL 36542.
