1942-2011
Patricia Boyett Ward, beloved wife, mother, maw-maw, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2011, after a courageous and valiant battle against cancer.
Trish was born in Pensacola, and remained a life long resident. She graduated from Pensacola High School in 1960, and then met and married the love of her life in December 1961. She and Edsel would have celebrated 50 years of love and devotion this year. Trish retired from Ford Motor Credit in 2000 after 27 years of service, and became the primary caregiver for her son Kevin, who also suffered from cancer.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband Edsel; son, Kerry (Sharon); grandchildren, Nathan and Lindsey; her faithful and beloved Shih Tzu, Jazz; sisters, Marcy Galbraith, Sherry Brogden, Susie (Wess) Wallis; nephews, Stacy (Stacy) Brogden, Shawn (Tammy) Wallis, Shane (Theresa) Wallis, Tracy and Tim Williams; very special niece, Brandi Reilly; and brother- in- law, Donald Ward. Pat will be especially missed by her best buds, Melva, Brooksie, and Faye. She loved them dearly.
Pat was preceded in death by her loving son, Kevin; mother, Mildred Salter; father Van W. Boyett and brother, Gil Gambrel.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Wallis, Shane Wallis, Stacy Brogden, Kyle Brogden, Larry Collier and Ed Woolam. Honorary pallbearers will be Wess Wallis, Dwight Hedger, Chuck Wardlow, Carl Smith, Melva Davis, Linda Brooks, and Faye Brewton.
A celebration of Pat’s life will be held on Monday, July 11, 2011, at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel from 5pm-8pm, and services to be held on Tuesday, July 12, at 11am at the funeral home.
The family extends a heart felt thank you to Dr. German Herrera and staff, the caring and compassionate nursing staff of Baptist Infusion Center, and Covenant Hospice, for the excellent care given to Pat during her illness.
