Mrs. Ouida H. Richards, from Cantonment, FL, peacefully went to sleep, then awoke in the arms of Jesus on September 29, 2024. She was a devoted and admiring wife of Leroy Richards since 1955. As a loving mother, cherished sister, aunt, friend, beloved Maw Maw to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she found immense joy in all her roles.
Most importantly, she was a firm believer and strong in her Christian faith. With excited anticipation, Ouida spoke recently of knowing that she would one day meet her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a longtime member of Smyrna Baptist Church for over 40 years and Naomi Sunday School Class.
Ouida was the Valedictorian of Century High School’s Class of 1954. Her knowledge and attention to detail served her and the community well for over 20 years at Escambia County Tax Collector.
Ouida cherished spending her time making memories with family and friends. She made it a priority to enjoy moments with her family and her many grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and creating lifelong memories. Ouida unselfishly served Christ going on several mission trips with her church. She cherished the memories of going on many ladies retreats with her closest church friends and they made many priceless memories together. She leaves behind a legacy of Christ-like love as an example to remember forever.
