Nicole “Nikki” Rae Smith, age 30, passed away May 3rd, 2019 in Pensacola, FL. She was born in Cheyenne, WY on May 21st, 1988 to Dennis and Paula Huff. In 2011 Nikki moved from Fayetteville, GA to Pensacola, FL.
Her activities (although limited from her battle with lupus) included; being a mommy to our two boys Parker and Palmer. Nikki loved those boys more than anything in the world and often used every bit of energy she had to play with them. She loved doing arts and crafts projects with them, as well as reading with them. She was an animal lover and never passed up an opportunity to see the giraffes (her favorite animal) at the Gulf Breeze Zoo. She was a laid-back country girl at heart, her favorite nights were gathered around a bonfire with family or friends. She loved her Auburn Tigers and cheered louder than anyone whenever a football game was on. She was in love with Paris, anytime she could scrapbook or buy decorations for the house it would have a Paris theme. She loved to visit her dad in Colorado to take the boat out on the lake. She loved to do art projects or baking cakes with her mom. Although lupus controlled much of her life, it never defined her. She was an inspiration to many people and went out of her way to take an interest in other’s lives. She was the strongest person many of us ever met and will be missed by many.
Nikki is survived by her loving husband; Andrew Smith, parents; Dennis and Paula Huff, and sons; Parker and Palmer Smith.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, May 10, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. located at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel in Pensacola, FL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America.
