Maxine White, age 89, passed away peacefully at home with her family present in Pensacola, Florida on February 12, 2013. She was born July 7, 1923 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. She met her beloved George White in 1943 at a 10 Cent Dance prior to his deployment in WWII. After George returned home, he found Maxine and they married on April 18, 1946. Maxine was employed by Campbell Soups and later became an Avon Representative. Maxine had two children, Dennis Dwaine and Delores Maxine. After moving with George to Pensacola, Florida, she became a member of The First Baptist Church of Pensacola. She dedicated herself to her family and friends. She is especially remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother for 89 years.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, George D White of 66 years in August 2011. Survivors include her son, Dennis and wife Carolyn White of Pensacola, Florida; daughter, Delores and her husband Kenny Knerr of Pensacola, Florida; her grandchildren, Dennis White Jr. of Winfield, Kansas; Dana and her husband Rod Swearingen of Blue Rapids, Kansas; Niki and her husband Rick Vige of Pensacola, Florida; Cody Knerr and his fiance' Jaimie Shinskie of Mobile, Alabama; Lita White and her boyfriend Paul Garcia of Pensacola, Florida; David White of Nebraska and Angie White of Blue Rapids, Kansas; Johnnie Monroe of Pensacola, Florida, Carol Lyons of Pensacola, Florida; her great grandchildren, Hailee, Abby, Lilli Rose, Aaliya, Jessica, Jacob, Brittany, Skyler, Ty Shelby, Adrian, Cameron, Nick, Samuel, Austen. A special thank you to Pat Violette, Laura Madden and Valerie Pinkney for taking care of the family's matriarch. We are very blessed that God sent you to care for Maxine until she reunited with her husband, George.
Visitation will be held Saturday February 16, 2013 at 12:00 pm with funeral service starting at 1:00 pm. All services will be at Eastern Gate Funeral Home with entombment at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens, 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, Florida.
