Mary Anne Williams, age 92, of Largo, FL went to be with her Lord on March 23, 2023. She quietly left us without pain or suffering. Originally from Jackson, MI, Mary Anne was a long-time resident of Pensacola and loved the beaches.
Before she met and married “Big Sam” she was a stewardess for Delta Airlines.
She sold State Farm Insurance with her husband, Sam Sr. then became a well-loved fixture in the front office at Holston’s School of Liberal Arts.
She went on to become the Press Secretary for the Honorable Earl Hutto, Congressional District One. She loved the excitement and the people that she served.
Returning to college at age 82 she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies and was so proud of that degree. She treasured education and never stopped learning and pushed her family to do the same.
While we grieve for her we reflect on what a wonderful woman she was. Her life was a mosaic of many stories of her beautiful spirit and love of adventure.
No matter where she was, she made an impact on those around her. She had a great sense of humor, loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, made people feel special, and had a great love for Jesus.
Mary Anne is preceded by the love of her life, Sam Williams, Sr., and her daughter Beverly. She leaves behind her children, Amanda and husband Jim, Melissa, Sam and wife Cindy. Her grandchildren, JT, Patrick, Katie, Thad, Sam, Paul, Anna, and of course her great-grandson Archer.
For many years most recently, Mary Anne was very active in the New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 176 E. Valley Road, Whitwell, TN 37397.
Services will be held graveside, Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Bayview Memorial Park, 3551 Scenic Hwy, Pensacola, FL 32503.
