Mary died peacefully on Monday, January 4th, 2021 at the Pensacola Life Care Center with her husband, John, by her side.
Mary Lou was born on 1/14/1939 in Decatur, IL to Hershel and Isabel Corman and was the second of three daughters. She lived in Danville, IL where she met and married her husband, John Maliskas on August 8, 1959, and enjoyed 62 years of marriage.
Together, Mary Lou and John raised six children and had the opportunity to live in six different states while growing their family along the way. 20 years ago they retired to Pensacola, FL from Newtown, CT where they loved living near the beach & enjoying the warmth.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her sister Sally Corman, her son Andrew Maliskas, and her son-in-law Eric Baldwin. She is survived by her sister Phyllis Grub, daughters Kim Ainsworth (Steven), Gina Waters (William), Jill Ryan (Matthew), Gwen Baldwin (Eric), and her son Aaron Maliskas (Alanda). She has 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who loved her tremendously and will miss her beautiful smile.
Mary Lou loved music and played the piano and organ for her church for over 30 years. Music was always playing in her house and whenever there were family gatherings it was just a matter of time before a sing-along would break out around the piano. Additionally, Mary was also a "fashionista" of sorts, and no matter the occasion she was always dressed to the nines with accessories to match and her favorite "accessory" behind to always compliment her, her husband John.
Mary Lou never met a stranger and those she met always remembered her beautiful smile. She put others first, was a devoted wife and mother, and was an active member of her church. But above all, Mary Lou's first priority was to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she loved and served with her entire being.
