Marj was born August 25, 1930 and Okmulgee Oklahoma to Roy and Olah Templeton and lived in Okmulgee until the family moved to Oklahoma City in 1938 she graduated from Northeast High School in 1948 and in 1950 started her off-and-on 20-year employment in civil service at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City Oklahoma. She held various jobs in the Civilian Personnel Division with the last being as Incentive Award Specialist. She met and married her husband, Floyd Whalen, a Position Classifier in the same division and when he retired in 1980, Marj quit her job to be able to spend more time being a homemaker. She and Floyd were able to travel and play golf in most of the U.S., Bermuda and the Bahamas.
Marj became a Christian at the age of 8 and was by nature an optimist. one who believe that if we asked Him, God would make everything all right and with Him we could face whatever came our way. She had many ups-and-downs in her life, but as a whole, lived a very comfortable and blessed life. She dearly loved her sons, Michael Alan and William David (Billy); grandson Micah Whalen; granddaughters Kristi, Courtney and Mandy Whalen; stepdaughter Priscilla Moore; stepson Michael Bryan Whalen; step-grandson Scot Ferguson; sister-in-law Rose Templeton; nephew Steven and nieces Rosemary, Roberta, and Elizabeth Templeton. She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; parents, Roy and Olah; her brother Jon Carroll Templeton and her niece, Anna Lee Rusmisel.
She was a member of the Agape Sunday School class at East Brent Baptist Church and loved all the members as her sisters. See you later, ladies!
